Join us at the National World War II Memorial for a moving ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and honoring the enduring alliance between the United States and the United Kingdom.

The program will feature the national anthems of both nations, remarks by Alex Kershaw, Resident Historian of Friends of the National World War II Memorial, and Dr. Kevin Griess, Superintendent of National Mall and Memorial Parks, National Park Service. The ceremony will also include a special address by Minister Allistair Carns, the United Kingdom’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Veterans and People.

We will honor attending World War II veterans, present wreaths at the Pacific Arch, and conclude the ceremony with the sounding of Taps.
