Voices of WWII

The Friends of the National World War II Memorial’s Voices of World War II program captures interview with WWII veterans and other members of the Greatest Generation at “their” Memorial allowing their images and stories to be collected and archived in a manner that allows them to be digitally preserved for posterity and use by family members, educators, historians, and subsequent generations.

Through onsite interviews with veterans and other members of the Greatest Generation, Voices of World War II transforms the Memorial into an outdoor classroom, providing a unique platform to digitally document the stories brought to life through first-person veteran accounts. This collection of videos, available through this site, is a precious digital time capsule that will serve as an invaluable resource to educate and engage millions of Americans now and for the many years to come.
