The National Guard Educational Foundation and the Friends of the National World War II Memorial present a very special event by acclaimed historian Alex Kershaw on his book The Bedford Boys: One American Town’s Ultimate D-day Sacrifice. Kershaw’s narrative, built upon extensive interviews, personal diaries, and private letters, provides a poignant look at the human cost of World War II through the lens of a single town.
As the resident historian for the Friends of the National WWII Memorial, Kershaw brings expert insight into how twenty-two "sons of Bedford" ultimately gave their lives throughout the Normandy campaign. Guests will gain a deeper understanding of the friendship, family ties, and extraordinary bravery that define this unforgettable chapter of American military history.
