Arthur Stilwell

Arthur joined the U.S. Navy at 16 with his parents' permission and served for six years, leaving as a First Class Motor Machinist. He served aboard various ships in multiple assignments, including time in the Pacific during the war. His Navy experience shaped a lifelong career in engine mechanics.

Born in rural Salem County, Arthur later married Dorothy Davis of West Philadelphia. The couple lived in the city for several years before moving to Darby and then Somerdale, New Jersey. He also spent time in Washington Township before retiring to North Wildwood. They raised three children together before Dorothy’s passing.
