Peter Peri

Peter Peri was born on February 7, 1924, and grew up in the Pimlico neighborhood of Baltimore City, Maryland. After graduating from Polytechnical High School in 1943, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Europe with the 9th Infantry Division. He arrived in France just two weeks after D-Day and was later promoted to Second Lieutenant following a recommendation for officer training, reflecting his leadership and valor in wartime.

After returning home, Pete married Velma, his childhood neighbor, and they raised two children together in Timonium, Maryland. He joined Rocchi Construction, his father-in-law’s company, where he advanced from carpenter to President by 1956. Under his leadership, the firm expanded into various projects, including rail stations, restaurants, and athletic fields, laying the groundwork for continued family leadership into the next generation.

Pete’s life outside of work was filled with joy and a sense of community. He was a longtime golfer at Hunt Valley Country Club and spent over 40 years in a duckpin bowling league. A proud veteran, he remained active in the Parkville American Legion Post 183. Peter Peri is honored for a life defined by service, family, and lasting contributions to his community.
