Ray Eads

Ray Eads is a cherished father and beloved grandfather who resides in the mountains of North Carolina, where he built a life with his devoted wife, Virginia, of whom he is now a survivor. Originally from West Virginia, Ray, affectionately known as "Chic," joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard LCT5-109, Hells-a-poppin’, during Operation Husky in the Sicilian campaign.

After his military service, Chic worked as an engineer for Union Carbide in Charleston, West Virginia, a position he held throughout his career. He is known as a principled man, a devoted Christian, and a provider who his family deeply loves.

Admired for his quick wit and simple pleasures, especially Lima Bean Soup and cornbread, Chic continues to be a source of joy and inspiration. His two daughters, their husbands, his great-granddaughter Willow, and his many grandchildren are honored to celebrate his 100th birthday and the remarkable life he continues to lead.
