Walter Dobbs

Walter Dobbs served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a flight engineer on a B-29 bomber. He enlisted to support his country, but the war ended shortly after the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan.

After his military service, Walter enjoyed a successful 29-year career as a mechanical engineer with IBM, retiring in 1990. He and his wife, Nancy, adopted and raised four children, all of whom went on to lead successful lives. The Dobbs family has since expanded to include eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Walter and Nancy have been married for an extraordinary 78 years and continue to share a profound, unconditional love. After retiring, they built a home by a lake in Rome, Wisconsin, where they lived until moving to Luther Village in 2010. They remain active and beloved members of their community, surrounded by lifelong friendships.
