William McLaurin

Born on September 23, 1924, William was drafted into the Army in 1942, just two months after turning 18. In July 1943, he completed basic training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. He states that he served throughout the Pacific, delivering supplies to other servicemen. Additionally, he was an Anti-Aircraft Machine Gunner on a ship. He served two separate terms: from July 1943 to July 1946 and from March 1948 to July 1950.
