Dan Breitenbach

Dan Breitenbach

I am the son of a WWII veteran and a veteran, having served 28 years of active duty in the US Army.  I commanded two batteries and later commanded a MLRS battalion in Operations Desert Shield/Storm.  I am married to Cathy, who also volunteers and we live in Lorton, VA.  My father flew the top turret on a B17 out of England.  Shot down in February 1944, he evaded for nearly four months and then was a POW for nearly a year.  In 1976, I accompanied him to Holland where he met the two women who directed him to the Dutch Underground.  This is the reason for my volunteering.
